Who are these Monkeys anyway?
Mary Monkey is a web monkey and a real monkey in terms of the Chinese zodiac. She can often be found monkeying around programmers' chat-rooms trying to figure out coding. Her hobbies include watching DVD's in English, cooking Chinese specialties, singing karaoke and dancing. Her formal education comes from East China Normal University where she majored in computer science. When she was a young girl, she wanted to be a folk dancer.
Due to his vivid facial expressions and classroom presence, Monkey David was formally dubbed "monkey" by many of his Chinese students. Since students both young and old on many separate occasions made this observation about him, he took the hint to heart and has thus co-founded ESL Monkeys. He acquired his degree from the University of Iowa in 1997 and has been teaching in China since 1998. Besides having written a conversation course book for one of his schools, he has done ESL teaching and consulting for both Chinese and American schools and companies. When he was a young boy, he wanted to be a farmer.
Together Mary and David form a natural team. They have created ESL Monkeys to make ESL a much more practical and accessible subject for teachers, schools and students worldwide.
